Head Trainer: Tyler Anderson

Tyler, originally from Novi, MI, began riding at this property at age 9, under the guidance of her

trainer, mentor and EAP board member, Mary Roskens. During this time, she honed her riding skills while also acquiring extensive knowledge in horse care and barn management, moving into a working student position at age 12.

Tyler was recruited into the NCEA Division 1 Equestrian Athletic Program at University of Tennessee - Martin, earning a spot in the starting lineup as a freshman. During her collegiate career, she excelled in both fences and flat events, consistently delivering strong performances. Tyler’s dedication led her to receive Most Outstanding Performance honors in both championship rounds at the ECAC Conference Championships, and she also posted the high score the following year at Conference Championships. With an impressive record of seven wins in ten starts in Equitation on the Flat, Tyler demonstrated her commitment to excellence in the sport.

In addition to her riding accomplishments, she completed her degree in Health and Human Performance and upon graduating, pursued and completed her Master’s degree in Sport Coaching and Performance while working as an assistant trainer at Mary-Go-Round Equestrian, under her former trainer, Mary Roskens.

While working for Mary and completing her Master's degree, Tyler achieved Reserve Champion

at the USHJA Emerging Athlete Program National Training Session in 2023, which secured her

participation in the Lindsey Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Gold Star Clinic in 2024 with clinician Nicki

Shahinian-Simpson. Following the clinic, Tyler received an exceptional opportunity to work for esteemed

riding professional and Nation’s Cup winner, Charlotte Jacobs, at her prestigious farm, North Star Sporthorses, in Wellington, FL.

Upon completing her tenure with Charlotte, Tyler returned to Michigan and resumed her position as an

Assistant Trainer at Mary-Go-Round Equestrian. Since, she has established an exceptional training

program for both competitive and young horses. Additionally, Tyler has cultivated a highly regarded

lesson program with a robust client base who seek her considerable experience and expertise. She has had the privilege to train with several distinguished professionals, including Candice King, Sari Clapperton, Melanie Smith Taylor, Richard Spooner, Hugh Graham, Julie Winkel, Peter Wylde, Joe Fargis and Cynthia Hankins. The expertise acquired from these accomplished riders has greatly contributed to her ongoing advancement in her riding career.

Tyler’s outstanding record as both a competitor and coach, combined with her strong educational background, makes her a valuable leader and head trainer at our equestrian facility, where she is dedicated to helping riders and horses reach their full potential.

We are so delighted to have Tyler Anderson as our Head Trainer of Legacy Equestrian!
